2018 Travels
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
September 22nd to 25th, 2018
The main reason we went to Dubai was to see the Burj Khalifa ... the tallest building in the world. We rode the elevator to the observation deck on the 148th floor at night which was very cool.
Below: Built at a cost of 1.5 billion dollars, the Burj Khalifa is 160-stories tall and is an impressive sight. We took this picture from the parking lot at our hotel.
Below: Night view of the Burj Khalifa we took from the fountain pool.

Below: Dubai is also home to the largest shopping mall in the world, which has a 2.6-million-gallon aquarium inside. This aquarium has the largest single aquarium viewing panel in the world (108 feet long). So now, the next time you fill your tank with gas, you know where the profits are going.
Below: At night, there is a nice little water fountain show every half hour in the fountain pool (Burj Khalifa in background).
We were only in Dubai for three days as a layover after Kenya. Next stop: Great Pyramids of Egypt.
