2020 Travels
Maldives
January 30 - February 4, 2020
Two big thumbs up for Maldives! It certainly has the warmest, clearest and bluest water we have ever seen, and the snorkeling was fabulous. The staff at our hotel, and all the activity providers, were friendly and worked hard to make sure we had a good time.
Below: Maldives is an island chain in the Indian Ocean. We stayed on the island of Maafushi. Over the course of a week we boated to several islands, fished, strolled on beaches and snorkeled a lot. The highlight was just seeing the beautiful waters all over. We snorkeled with sharks, rays, dolphins, turtles and tropical fish. This was a marvelous experience!
Below: Large stingrays swam along the shore and let you pet them.
Below: We swam with about one hundred dolphins. That was really wonderful.
Below: On one island we swam with sharks. Large sharks. Lots of sharks!
Fortunately they were harmless nurse sharks.
Maldives was fabulous! Next stop: Malaysia.
