Singapore was a short but enjoyable stop for us. Modern, thriving and technologically advanced, we found Singapore to be a friendly place with delicious food.
Below: The iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel was impressive and gave us great views of the city.
Below: The 'Flower Dome' is part of 'Gardens by the Bay.' It was beautiful and fragrant.
Below: This is the 'Supertree Grove' by day and by night.
Below: The most unexpected thing we saw in Singapore was otters! A family of six otters were relaxing in a park near the bay.
Below: We were in Singapore during the Chinese New Year holiday (celebrated throughout Asia). This normally festive time was subdued by the onset of the coronavirus epidemic. Wearing face masks became the new normal in South-East Asia. We carried face masks with us but never wore them. We learned that surgical masks do more harm than good when trying to protect against the virus.
Our visit to Singapore was short but sweet. Next stop: Maldives.
