Ever since our wonderful trip to China in 2016 we had been yearning to return to Southeast Asia; partly for the culture and partly for the delicious food. Vietnam did not disappoint.
Below: Hanoi was a blast! Downtown is super busy and super fun - always something interesting to see on the streets.
Below: This narrow alley is lined with cafes and has train tracks running down the middle. Boy is it exciting when the train comes barreling through. You can't tell from the photo, but this train is moving fast!
Below: We boated through Ha Long Bay to see the beauty and the seaside lifestyle.
Below: Scenery around the modern city of Da Nang, including their fire-breathing dragon.
Below: 'Basket Boats' are traditional fishing boats in Vietnam.
Below: The bustling markets in Hoi An explain why the food tastes so good - most Vietnamese meals are prepared fresh. Pho Bo (beef noodle soup) was one of our favorites.
Below: There was a great seafood restaurant next to our hotel. 'Seafood Hotpot' was our favorite dish.
Below: "Hoi An Memories" is a beautiful outdoor show telling the story of Vietnam's history. We loved it.
Vietnam was much better than expected - so fun and so easy to get around. We would love to return some day. Next stop: Cambodia.
