WIN-A-CHECK was a promotional game issued by the Getty Oil Company in 1964. This was a collect-and-win game with cash prizes. With each visit to a participating Getty gas station, customers received a game envelope. The envelopes contain a game piece; a slip of paper with the image of one-half of a bank check. The goal was to collect game pieces and try to match two halves of a check of the same amount in which case the player won that amount. There were five cash prizes available, $1, $5, $25, $100 and $500. There are ten different game pieces in this game; five are common and five are the key, prize-winning check halves. This was the first game of chance issued by Getty Oil. |
