Dry Tortugas National Park, Florida


Below: We took a boat 70 miles from Key West to get to Dry Tortugas National Park. The main island is home to Fort Jefferson, a huge fortress built in 1846.

Below: The fort is built with over 16 million bricks and is the largest masonry structure in North America.

Below: The 15-inch cannons were impressive. In their day, they were the most powerful cannons in the world and could fire a 315-pound shell over three miles!

Below: We snorkeled in the beautiful waters around the island.
