Kobuk Valley National Park, Alaska
There are no roads to this remote park so we hired an air taxi service to fly us in to see the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes. Each year in spring over a quarter million caribou migrate across the sand dunes. The migration was over so we didn't see any caribou but we enjoyed our visit anyway.

Below: The sand dunes look quite out-of-place amongst the trees.
Below: The sand dunes are deep and cover 25 square miles.
Below: We landed on Kobuk River for some exploration. Since there are no roads, there is not a National Park entrance sign. You have to bring your own!
Below: We found some fresh wolf tracks in the river bank but we did not see the wolf.
