Below: A river of ice. The surface of the 'Double Glacier' shows its flow marks with huge crevasses that are over 100 feet deep.

Below: We spotted a grizzly bear walking on the beach. Our pilot decided to land right on the beach so we could get a closer look! The bear was busy fishing for salmon.

Below: The bear was trying to catch the salmon by pouncing on them but he was unsuccessful.

Below: When the bear gave up on fishing and started walking toward us, our pilot said "Maybe we should head on out of here!"

Below: In California you cannot just fly around willy-nilly and land on any old beach you want - without any radio contact with anyone. Things are magically different here in Alaska!
